As we are in the middle of foliage season, I would like to bring up again a sign of changes, better or worse. Changes are of course subjective depending on which side you see things from. Changes will dictate our days ahead. Therefore we should be aware of bellwether event, that may predict what the future will bring. It is very hard to find one, of course.
In a week, on November 4, Election Day, we will glimpse which way the people in the New York metro area wish to go. Staying away from my own personal preference and expectations, I am very much interested in what two local elections results will influence our future. Politics and leadership influence our daily life, a quality life we deserve.
Two elections are: First, New Jersey’s gubernatorial election (as a resident). Second, New York City’s Mayoral election (as a former-commuter to the city).
Whomever people choose, every one has to deal with the consequences of the elections. Voting matters. Results matter. Remember, 65% of US eligible citizens voted in the 2024 presidential election — not enough participation in my opinion. Let’s go out to vote, as we all have to live with the consequences.
